Pete McCANN is leader of his own jazz quintet and trio in New York City.
Recently, he has performed with the Maria Schneider Big Band, John Adams' opera "I Was Looking At The Ceiling And Then I Saw The Sky" (Lincoln Center, NYC), Bobby Watson's Electric Band and Jack Walrath and The Masters of Suspense.
Additionally, Pete McCann has performed with James Moody, Jon Faddis, Pat LaBarbera, Adam Nussbaum, Dan Gottlieb and Ed Thigpen.

Down Beat Magazine named Pete McCann Outstanding jazz instrumental soloist in 1987. He received the Ed Casias Memorial Scholarship for three years while attending the University of North Texas. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Degree, while teaching jazz guitar on ataff.
In 1988, he attended the Banff Summer Jazz Workshop in Canada, where he studied with Dave Holland and Kevin Eubanks, among others.
Pete McCANN has been associated with Belgian saxophone player Erwin VANN, his Worlds project featuring a.o. Kenny WHEELER for several concerts, festivals and a CD, and his INNER PEACE BAND.
He also played with oboist Emmanuelle SOMER in Europe and the US and appears on her CDs The Apple Tree (LyraeLY 98016-C) and Search for Peace.
