Drummer Antoine Pierre "Artist in Residence" during the upcoming Brussels Jazz Festival 2020
Drummer Antoine Pierre will be Artist in Residence during the 2020 edition of Flagey's Brussels Jazz Festival ! He will be presenting 3 different bands during the festival in January 2020:
  • Friday 10, 2020, a quartet with Joshua Redman, Eric Legnini and Or Barkeep
  • Saturday 11, "St6cks" with two fellow drummers Lander Gyselinck and Mark Schilders
  • Thursday 16, Urbex will be presenting a new repertoire "Variations on Miles Davis' Bitches Brew" with Bram De Looze, Bert Cools, Jean-paul Estiévenart, Félix Zurstrassen, Frédéric Malempré, Jozef Dumoulin, Ben van Gelder and Reinier Baas.

    Final bar : trombonist/composer/bandleader Garrett List
    We heard that trombonist/composer/bandleader/teacher Garrett List has passed away on Dec. 27, 2019, at the age of 76. An original and creative figure on the musical scene, he settled in Liège (B) in 1981 and gave an improvisation class.
    In recent years, he founded Orchestra Vivo !

    A Marc Danval fund at the Belgian Royal Library
    In 2010, collector and jazz specialist Mac Danval transferred his huge collection (albums, sheet music, posters, books, photographs, etc...) to the Belgian Royal Library. It is now the "Marc Danval fund".

    New video clip for Tricycle
    With Tuur Florizoone (accordion), Philippe Laloy (saxes & flutes) and Vincent Noiret (double bass), Tricycle kicked off the 20 Years Tricycle Tour in the Ancienne Belgique (11.11.19) with the premiere of the CD 'ZOOM'. This was the ideal opportunity to make a new professional music video. To watch it, just click on the title. Thanks to Joop Pareyn who was responsible for images and editing. All tour dates in Belgium until the end of January on www.tricycle.be where you can also order the CD. It has 13 new compositions in which the trio once again explores the boundaries of jazz, world music, film music and classical music with a typically 'Belgian' sound as a result.

    Tricycle : 20th anniversary, a tour and an album
    Tricycle celebrates its 20th anniversary with a new CD 'ZOOM' and an intimate club tour through Flanders, Wallonia and the Netherlands. The starting shot will be given on Monday November 11th, 2019 at 20 pm in the AB-club, Brussels. Expect a unique 'Belgian' mix of jazz, world music, film music and classical music, with 13 new compositions by accordionist Tuur Florizoone that he performs with his companions Philippe Laloy (saxes & flutes) and Vincent Noiret (double bass).
