On Monday 02/09 the Beursschouwburg becomes a real music temple again. For two weeks we will be hosting the fifth edition of the KlaraFestival.
At 12:30 we present a series of big names in the intimate setting of a lunch concert, with a.o. Pieter Wispelwey, Sergej Krylov, Peter Jablonski and the Aviv Quartet to name but a few. During the first week we also serve up some classics at 20:00, with the Estonian violin virtuoso Andres Mustonen and his ensemble Hortus Musicus, Russian vanguard monument Alexei Lubimov, Mendelssohn afficinado Roberto Prosseda and Belgium’s national string quartet Quatuor Danel.
At 22:00 it’s cross-over time, when we close some gaps and jump some bridges with our Late Night double bills. The classically or jazz inspired improvised music by Andres Mustonen or saxophone genius Gianni Gebbia meets with the electronic experiments from sound wizzards Raz Mesinai, Ergo Phizmiz and Andrea Belfi. Jef Neve, Mâäk’s Spirit and trio LidlBoj explore the boundaries of contemporary jazz. Het collectief, Spectra and Roberto Prosseda dive into the 20th Century repertory of comtemporary classic music, Zodiak Trio and Bl!ndman flirt with heavy metal.
