Holding on to your thoughts and imagination are at the heart of Lara Rosseel's rich arrangements, intimate digressions and fine sound paintings.
At the beginning of 2020, Lara Rosseel was the surprise discovery of the Belgian jazz scene with her album De Grote Vrouw. She is now continuing her conquest with a new quintet and repertoire. Her music, often containing catchy exotic elements, balances on that enviable border between mystery and recognition. She surrounds herself with trumpeter Sam Vloemans, young guitarist Vitja Pauwels, Sep François on vibraphone and marimba and the 'wild card' percussionist Angelo Moustapha, the final piece in this imaginative line-up.
Lara Rosseel, the poet on the double bass and a gifted composer; the silent soul with respect and love for the music, which she wants to discover and which, as far as she is concerned, goes in many directions and carries several faces. Chris Joris
