Often cited as one of the most exciting Belgian projects, Dans Dans the band by Bert Dockx (Flying Horseman), Frederic Jacques (bass with Mark Lanegan and front man of Lyenn) and Steven Cassiers (multi-instrumentalist at Dez Mona and DAAU) has already built up an international live reputation.
In 2012 the trios titleless debut album became an instant cult classic. It contained personal versions of Nick Drake songs (the wonderful and stripped-down River Man) and compositions by Sonny Rollins, Sun Ra and Thelonious Monk. In its peculiar approach Dans Dans tore down the walls separating Belgian jazz, pop and rock scenes.
On Discogs some copies of the debut are worth 100. At the request of their fans, the record will be re-issued on vinyl. This festive moment is celebrated in Leuven, where the band will play the complete debut album, as well as a selection of its enormous back catalogue.
