Swedish Azz consists of five European improvisers expressing their love for the modern Swedish jazz masterpieces from the 50´s and 60´s and for the musicians who created them, such as the legendary Lars Gullin. Originally influenced by American cool jazz, the music is playfully framed in contemporary structures and soundscapes, using turntables, electronics and furious saxophones: "Fascinating and highly unusual not-quite-free jazz. It could have ended up as a right old mess, but in the event it was a thoroughly convincing performance .
