Tomás García (flamenco guitar and vocals), Toni Bárbara (saxophone and flute), Mariano Pollet (double bass and bass), Manolo Trigo (percussion) and Barnabas Hangonyi, alias Batio (cello).
Starting from the traditional elements of flamenco and using of those "palos" in which rhythm and "compás" are the main protagonists, the Spanish composer and guitar player Tomás García offers a very personal interpretation of flamenco, the most traditional airs of this music, "bulerías", "tangos," "alegrías," and "fandangos," show influences from jazz, latin and classical music. As a guitar player he has been frequently compared to Django Reinhardt.
With his band Un Gato en la Luna, García is performing Flamenco Fusion, a blend of different musical influences. His interesting approach, his original themes and the fact that hes particularly focusing on melody, create a wonderful journey.
Tomás Garcías brilliant compositions, Toni Bárbaras melodies and improvisations on saxophone & flute and the amazing rhythm section make this band a highly interesting event for every audience.
