Charly D'INVERNO began his formal musical education at the Verviers Conservatoire (Belgium), majoring in Classical Guitar. His exposure to jazz was further enhanced when he relocated to the United States during the early eighties through his education at the
renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Since his return from Berklee, his career has progressed and developed through his performances at various Belgian festivals including
Liège, Gaume Jazz Festival, Bruges Summer Festival, Huy, Spa, Jette June jazz Rallye etc... Some of the notable artists whom he has
performed with include Phil WOODS and the Michel LEGRAND Big Band. He is currently based in Italy and teaches at the Cooperativa
Musica dal Vivo in Turin. He also appears regularly at the Contemporary Music Festival in Rivoli.
A musician with contrasting styles, Charly D'INVERNO seldom fails to surprise. Tender and derisive at the same time, this composer
guitarist hardly takes any account of musical or social ettique and conventions. He performs his musical scenario with traditional
cadences and construction. Sequences of precise phrasing follow one another much like in a film or comic strip.
