AAfter a childhood spent listening to the records of his parents, blowing into a
saxophone and banging on « laundry-drums », Antoine Pierre began to play the drums
at the age of 12.
Eager to transform the sound he produces in music, he consults his
elders: Antoine Cirri, Stephane Galland, Xavier Roge, Lionel Beuvens, Nathalie
Loriers, Jozef Dumoulin, Fabian Fiorini, or Antonio Sanchez ,…
Since 2008, he decided
to play what he has composed with other musicians, he founded the Metropolitan
Laboratory with whom he had the opportunity to play at the Jazz Festival in Liège,
the Dima Jazz Festival (Algeria), the Comblain Jazz Festival (where the group won
the young talent prize).
Antoine now has the honor to perform with musicians such as Alain Pierre, Sam
Gerstmans, Barbara Wiernik, Philip Catherine, Philippe Aerts, Enrico Pieranunzi,
Greg Houben, Steve Houben, Fabian Fiorini, Olivier Stalon, Guillaume Vierset, Felix
Zurstrassen , Igor Gehenot…
His constant search for new sounds and rhythmic palettes allows him to win the prize
for best soloist at the Comblain Jazz Festival 2009 and best soloist at the Brussels
Jazz Marathon 2010.
