Sept. 8 : tribute to cellist Denis Van Hecke at the Marni, Brussels
Pianist Frank Wuyts, his partner in Musique Flexible, organizes on September 8 at Theatre Marni in Brussels a tribute evening to the late cellist Denis Van Hecke.
With the participation of Nicolas FISZMAN bass / Eric LONGSWORTH cello / Natacha WUYTS vocals / Frank WUYTS piano, compositions / Kevin MULLIGAN guitar.
A cd of "Musique Flexible" will also be released, with live recordings from the period 2008-1009.

Double bass/cello player José Bedeur introduces 2 new bands
Double bass/cello player José Bedeur introduces 2 new bands :
  • A trio named "Les 3G" (3 generations !), with Sébastien Jadot (trombone) and Guillaume Vierset (guitar),see video : https://vimeo.com/47558255
  • Caravan, with Ronald Lecourt on the vibraphone, Donato Cocca on percussion and José on double bass and cello. A first (free) concert will take place on October 5, 2012, in Ixelles...Standards and French chansons with jazz and free improvisations.

    The band LG Jazz Collectif wins the Young Talent Trophy at the Leffe Jazz Nights 2012
    The septet, led by guitarist Guillaume Vierset (born 1987) played compositions by Bobby Jaspar, Pirly Zurstrassen and Alain Pierre, all composers from the city of Liège. Hence the band's name LG Jazz Collectif.
    The band is composed of Antoine Pierre (dm), Félix Zurstrassen (b), Guillaume Vierset (g), Jean-François Folier (cl), Laurent Barbier (s), Loïc Dumoulin (tp) and Igor Géhénot (p).

    During the upcoming Gaume Jazz festival (B), on August 11, 2012, saxophonist Fabrice Alleman has a "carte blanche" and presents an international quartet composed of Fred Favarel (guitar, France), Minino Garay (perc., Argentina), Reggie Washington (bass, USA) and the MP4 string quartet.     DelVitaGroup XL : a new project of drummer Toni Vitacolonna : quintet + 7 classical wind instruments
    Drummer Toni Vitacolonna launches a new project which combines his jazz quintet with 7 classical woodwinds. A double album is to be released soon under the title "Yip & Yang". Arrangements by the members of the band, as well as by Lode Mertens, Joppe Bestevaar.
    The jazz quintet is composed of Peter Delannoye (Trombone), Steven Delannoye (Soprano sax), Bart Van Caenegem (Piano), Janos Bruneel (Double bass) and Toni Vitacolonna (drums).
