Nicolas Kummert plays tenor and soprano saxophone and writes music for about ten years now.

In his young career, he already had the chance to perform in some 25 countries such as Australia, Russia, Canada, Benin, Marocco, Mexico, Portugal, Norway, France, Finland, Greece, England…

Beautiful papers:

In 2003 he received the Django d’or young talent award.

Earlier, he won in 1999 the Hoielaart international jazz contest and in 2001, the Avignon jazz competition in France with the Alexi Tuomarila Quartet.

He is graduate of the Brussels Jazz Conservatory.

Beautiful music:

With QU4TRE, he recorded and composed for 2 albums (“4” and “Submarine”)

With Finnish pianist Alexi Tuomarila, he recorded and composed songs for 2 albums, the latest “02” produced by Warner Music.

He also recorded and composed with Alchimie,

Beside this he played and recorded with the 12 piece orchestra Jambangle, and with guitarist Pierre Van Dormael as a member of his project “Vivaces” including musicians as Stéphane Galland, Chander Sardoe, Bo van der Werf, Kris Defoort.

He plays with several Brussels based African singers such as John Arcadius, Djakhobo, Inno De Sadjo.

Since 2004, he works with Dj Binci and toured around Europe with him, playing venues such as the ‘ministry of sound’ in London, the “Shakra” in Moscow or the ‘passage’ in Vienna.
