Wedstrijd voor amateur-jazzgroepen
Een wedstrijd voor amateur-jazzgroepen van alle leeftijden: dat is wat
Muziekmozaďek en Jazzenede samen opzetten begin augustus. Geďnteresseerd
om je kans te wagen? Stel je dan kandidaat voor eind juni 2012.
Jazzenede is een gratis muzikale happening rond jazz, blues en
rootsmuziek, in en rond de dorpskern van Assenede. Drijvende kracht
achter dit project is Strandpaal 28, een vzw die op het vlak van
organisatie van cluboptredens en grotere evenementen al 20 jaar haar
sporen heeft verdiend.
Jazzenede zorgt niet alleen voor muziek, maar probeert ook de omgeving,
de bevolking en de lokale verenigingen te betrekken bij het festival. Het
dorp wordt als het ware ‘opgezogen’ in het thema van de
happening. Gespreid over 5 dagen – van woensdag 8 tot en met zondag
12 augustus 2012 – vind je in de dorpskern naast de hoofdbrok aan
concerten ook een kunstproject, straattheater, expo’s,
kinderanimatie, workshops en nog veel meer.
Jazzenede bereikt ruim 10.000 toeschouwers en wordt gedragen door
zo’n 100 vrijwilligers.
Waarom een wedstrijd voor amateurgroepen? Jazzenede wil niet alleen
gevestigde waarden programmeren maar ook jong en minder jong
amateurtalent een podium bieden. “Pop- en rockgroepen kunnen in
zowat elke gemeente terecht voor wedstrijden maar als je jazz, blues of
rootsmuziek speelt, is dat minder evident”, zegt Pablo Smet, een van
de organisatoren. Jazzenede wil hieraan tegemoet komen door in
samenwerking met Muziekmozaďek, Impulscentrum voor Folk en Jazz, groepen
de kans te geven te komen spelen op het festival. Er zijn clubconcerten
en een betaalde coaching te winnen.

Rotosound Launch Design a Jazz Guitar Pick Competition
To celebrate the launch of their new guitar pick range, Rotosound are launching their ‘Design A Pick’ competition with a main prize of 200 of your winning design picks, plus the honour of having your pick launched by Rotosound.
The competition is to design an image to fit on a standard pick shape. The design needs to be bright and creative, exciting and clearly show your passion for music. It will be a striking imaginative concept, well executed and have an originality and point of difference that makes it stand out from the others.
There are eight categories to enter: rock, metal, blues, folk, punk, psychedelic, pop and jazz. Each category will have six winners who will have the opportunity to see their creation put in to production and go on sale worldwide, as well as receiving a 200 of their winning Rotosound picks.
To enter simply download the pick template from www.rotosound.com design your pick and send your entry stating which category you are entering to jason@rotosound.com. Twee saxophonen gestolen
Mijn naam is Bart Van Beneden en studeer saxofoon aan het conservatorium van Brussel. Je kan gerust stellen dat muziek mijn leven is. Het ondenkbare is echter gebeurd: gisterenavond op 23 april werden tijdens het dirigeren in Jezus-Eik mijn beide instrumenten gestolen uit de koffer van mijn wagen op de parking van GC De Bosuil. Mocht iemand iets merken op tweedehandssites, op broquantes, in muziekwinkels etc gelieve AUB de politie en mezelf te contacteren : bart.van.beneden@gmail.com (+32.479.38.47.55). Als muzikant werk je hard om een band te creëren met je instrument, dit gaat om veel meer dan enkel geld...

Stage d’ensemble Jazz-Brésilien
Ce stage s'adresse à tous les musiciens amateurs de jazz et
désireux de pouvoir pratiquer la musique au sein d'un ensemble.
Durant la première quinzaine de juillet, je me propose de coacher
un ou plusieurs ensembles allant du duo au sextet (selon
desiderata et niveaux).
Le but est de mettre en place 3 morceaux de styles et tempi
différents en 5 jours à raison de 2h de pratique quotidienne pour
les présenter ensuite le 6ème jour au public que nous aurons pris
soin de convier dans notre entourage plus ou moins proche.
Nous aborderons le jeu d’ensemble, l’impro, les harmonies et les
rythmes typiquement brésiliens: samba, bossa-nova, baiao,
choro, frevo, etc…
Les cours se donneront à Bruxelles, soit à la Jazzstation (Saint-
Josse) soit au B Flat (Saint-Gilles).
J'ai de bonnes notions d'anglais, me débrouille en néerlandais et
un petit peu en portugais.
Prix: 120,00 Euros la semaine pour un cours en sextet.

Nieuwe coproductie voor ambitieuze jazzprojecten
Kunstencentra Vooruit, nOna,Vrijstaat O en Flagey slaan de handen in elkaar met JazzLab Series om een innovatief en spannend jazzproject te helpen realiseren.
Ben je een professionele jazzmuzikant die actief en gevestigd is in België en loop je rond met ambitieuze plannen die moeilijk of niet realiseerbaar zijn binnen de bestaande circuits? Je wenst samen te werken met een buitenlandse muzikant, je wil een alliantie aangaan met andere kunstdisciplines of heb je een muzikale wereldreis gemaakt waarvan je de neerslag wil presenteren in een magnifiek concert?
Deel je plannen met ons en misschien word je ondersteund door dit gloednieuwe samenwerkingsverband dat een gedurfd jazzproject honereert. Aan het verkozen project wordt ondersteuning geboden die kan bestaan uit een productiebudget en/of logistieke ondersteuning. Er volgt een concerttournee met JazzLab Series (met een gegarandeerd concert bij elk van de coproducenten).
Een kandidatuur bevat:
- Naam van het project
- Namen van de deelnemers + rol binnen het project
- Bio van de initiatiefnemende artiest
- Korte omschrijving van het project (10 à 20 regels)
- Antwoorden op volgende vragen:
o Waarom heeft dit project ondersteuning nodig?
o Waarom is dit project noodzakelijk binnen de carrière van de indienende artiest?
o Wat is de meerwaarde ten aanzien van de reeds bestaande initiatieven van de artiest?
o Wat is de waarde van het project voor de Belgische jazzscène?
o Welk traject ligt er in het verschiet voor dit project na de creatie?
- Geef aan voor welk soort kosten het productiegeld gebruikt zal worden
(begroting is niet nodig, wel een korte opsomming van te maken kosten)

Oproep voor muziekmateriaal voor het Institut National des Arts (INA) in Kinshasa/DRC
Het Koninklijk Conservatorium Gent (faculteit binnen de School of Arts/Hogeschool Gent) heeft sedert eind 2011 een project ‘Music.Congo@Vlaanderen’ met het Institut National des Arts (INA) in Kinshasa/DRC, ondersteund door de Vlaamse Gemeenschap.
Het betreft een uitwisselingsproject waarbij studenten en docenten van het Conservatorium naar het INA in Kinshasha gaan en 3 docenten van het INA die gedurende enkele weken naar het Conservatorium komen (2 weken in november 2011, 2 weken in december 2012 en 2 weken in november of december 2013).
Hoofdbedoeling van deze uitwisseling is dat het Conservatorium een bijdrage levert om Congolese muziek bekend te maken in Vlaanderen en in 2013 concerten en workshops organiseert met en in de diverse muziekacademies in Vlaanderen.
Omgekeerd is er een zeer grote vraag vanuit het INA naar pedagogische en didactische muziekkennis. Daarom gaan er van 9 tot 20 april 2012 twee docenten van het Conservatorium naar het INA ( Leon Lhoest (docent jazz theorie) en Pierre Vaiana (docent jazz/pop combo). Zij zullen er les geven aan studenten en docenten van het INA en het project bewaken.
Aangezien het INA in Kinshasa een schrijnend tekort heeft aan pedagogisch en didactisch lesmateriaal, partituren, instrumenten en allerlei voor muziekonderwijs op secundair en hoger niveau doen wij een warme oproep of u geen ongebruikt of dubbel muziekmateriaal ter beschikking hebt? Al het muziekmateriaal (boeken, lesmateriaal, partituren, video’s, instrumenten, …) dat u over heeft, kan gebruikt worden in het INA. U mag ons alles opsturen of wij kunnen dit komen ophalen. Wij zullen dit zelf wel sorteren in het Conservatorium.

European Saxophone Ensemble : call for saxophonists

… a young (-30) and motivated saxophonist ?
… familiar with improvisation ?
… playing your instrument for at least six years ?
… eager to be part of an international project ?
The European Saxophone Ensemble - a group of twelve musicians from twelve different countries in the European Union - is looking for new members !
During several workshops Guillaume Orti will select 12 new members for the European Saxophone Ensemble. Selected musicians will get the unique experience to rehearse and tour through Europe in the summer and fall of 2012.
Although selections take place for the tour, the workshops are open and free for everyone!
Through intense collective practice, the workshops will focus on learning by heart, memorizing and analyzing some compositional vocabularies in order to use them when improvising.

Studio 2 Production cherche groupe pour réaliser clip gratuitement

Nous avons connu un grand succès lors de la réalisation et de la production du clip de l’artiste harpiste Maria Palatine à Marville (Meuse). En effet, plus de 50 personnes étaient présentes lors du tournage du clip « Coming from the Black Mountains ». La presse et la télévision nous ont aussi largement couvert et diffusé.

Fort de cette belle expérience, Studio 2 Production souhaite en effet réitérer l’aventure pour le tournage d’un nouveau clip. Nous faisons donc appel à la candidature d’artistes ou jeunes artistes souhaitant créer un clip-musical pour une de leurs futures productions. Studio 2 Production sera en charge de la réalisation, du financement, de la production et du montage du clip. (Sauf frais de transport à charge de l'artiste).
Il est envisagé de tourner ce clip en France, en Belgique ou au Luxembourg dans un périmètre de 70 km autour du siège social de Studio 2 Production qui se situe à Messancy (Belgique).

Matters is looking for professional percussionists
We are MATTERS
A multidisciplinary collective, dedicated to live composition. We are musicians, dancers and actors.
To do so, we mainly work with Soundpainting, an incredible sign language created by Walter Thompson since the 70's. We build instant composition shows and have played in Théâtre National, Théâtre Varia, soon Wolubilis. More of us on www.soundpainting.be
We start a NEW PROJECT
... for which we are looking for 10 to 20 PERCUSSIONISTS. Using a sign language created especially to compose rythme with a percussion ensemble, a band called La Bomba de Tiempo makes 1000 to 3000 people dance together every monday since 6 years on pure rythme. A Bomba night is : a PARTY / the place to DANCE like mad in town / a social MEETING. We are building a similar group here in Brussels.

The band
... will be composed of 10 percussions, and 5 bass/keys/brass and woodwinds. We want to make it sound like our own band, and work for Brussels. We need joyfull, talented, precise and available percussionists. The succes of this project is made of a number of necessary ingredients.
We want to try some different combinations, hear and see what you can offer us and how you can take part in such a project. We also want to let you try it out, see if it fits for you. Therefore, we are preparing meeting/audition sessions in may-june.
The shows
The main shows are going to happen in LA TENTATION, one of the best places for this thing in Brussels :-) Starting in november, raising progressively the frequency from 1 to 4 per month.
They should at the end take place EVERY monday or tuesday !! Extreme regularity is one of the most important ingredients. Together with La Tentation, we want to make it a very well known place for dance in Brussels. Before each show, a huge dance and percussion class.
Planning
- We are travelling to Argentina in may 2012 to enrich our knowledge of live composing with their language.
- Firsts meeting with as many percussionists as possible in may/june 2012, and audition. You will need to attend at least 2 of them.
- (Lots of) Rehearsals in september and october 2012.
- First show in november 2012.
Conditions
- Defrayal for rehearsals.
- Number of well payed gigs assured.
- Professional and wide communication.
All of this will be discussed at the meeting sessions in may and june.

Appel à candidature : résidence - Apéro-jazz au Théâtre des Doms
L'apéro Jazz constitue une ouverture en musique de la saison du Théâtre des Doms.
Il est un moment, musical avant tout, mais aussi convivial et ouvert : nous voulons faire découvrir à notre public, local et régional un groupe musical de qualité qui sorte des sentiers connus ou battus.Nous proposons au groupe choisi de profiter de sa présence aux Doms, pour une résidence de travail, en journée, pour laquelle nous mettons notre salle et les locaux de vie à sa disposition pour travailler.
La formule :
Le groupe accueilli joue 2 sets de 30 à 45 minutes dans la cour du Théâtre des Doms entre 18 et 20h du dimanche 16 au mercredi 19 septembre 2012.
Pendant la journée, le groupe dispose de la salle du théâtre pour travailler : composer, répéter, travailler la mise en espace, les éclairages, enregistrer, …
Le groupe est logé sur place, nourri et transporté. Un cachet est prévu pour l’ensemble de la session.
Il est possible de démarrer la résidence quelques jours avant les concerts (à partir du 10 septembre).
Conditions :
Artistiques
Démarche contemporaine, originale (majorité de compositions propres au groupe), soucieuse d'un rapport direct et chaleureux au public et la plus acoustique possible.
Maximum 6 musiciens (3 chambres twins et petite scène)
Techniques :
Scène de 3m sur 4 environ. Amplification légère. Pas de piano acoustique. Ambiance club de plein air.
Financières et pratiques :
Le groupe retenu bénéficie : du transport Bruxelles/Avignon A.R. en TGV ou équivalent, du logement sur place (trois chambres de deux lits avec douche + un wc commun), d'un espace de restauration (grande cuisine équipée), d'une buanderie, de la salle de théâtre (pour les répétitions en journée) et de 1000 € TTC par musicien (sur présentation d'une facture).
Éléments à fournir :

Le festival Django@Liberchies cherche des bénévoles

Le festival Django @ Liberchies aura lieu dans moins de 2 mois, les 5 et 6 mai 2012.
Si vous désirez vous impliquer, ne fût-ce que quelques heures, dans la bonne marche de la prochaine édition du festival, merci de nous renvoyer, dûment complété, le formulaire d'informations, téléchargeable sur le nouveau site www.djangoliberchies.be à la rubrique « Devenir bénévoles ».
Notez que cette année il n’y aura pas de poste bar en bénévolat… il sera pris en charge par une association locale. Une réunion sera prévue à la date du 19 avril 2012 à 19h au Pays de Geminiacum (Place de Liberchies) pour vous tenir informés du déroulement de l’organisation.
