CKO plays jazzy soul-funk-groove music -- a mixture of funk, jazz and soul. The sound of the band, while contemporary, is reminiscent of Black American music of the early 1970's. The music features the same ingredients that made 70's funky soul so powerful: great horn arrangements, strong song writing, funky grooves, soulful vocals, jazzy solos and, most importantly, the sound of musicians playing real instruments together.
